Rex has been used for 4h with my son when my son was 11 and 12 years old, he hauls, ties, good for farrier but super hard feet we have never had to shoe him. Been used in night parade with lights, day parade, and used for gaming, western, costume class, trail and showmanship as well as trail riding and moving cows. He has his own story he was a rescue years ago in CA and a young lady brought him to WA with her when she entered college and he was stabled and it wasn't a good thing for him, he got stressed and the stall cleaner had beat him, we have had him for a couple years and he has been turned out, we have stalled him at shows as well as been in a tie stall at one show and he did ok, but you have to have patience and understanding with him. He is a great gelding. Has a HUGE walk out, and is SAFE and sane, he is a horse you can go move cows on with your kids riding him and not worry about them. The only reason we are selling him is cause my son is a teenager and sports are more than horses and so he doesn't ride and Rex wants to be loved! The higher rate on temperament is not cause he is HOT when you ride or dealing with him but he does get nervous around loud hyper people. Wouldn't make a good queen horse I think it would be too much stress on him. I ideally see him as a ladies horse for trail riding that knows about horses and wants a great loving partner!
